The Parker's Journey

Wow I didn't realize how long it has been since we were on here. Our family talked us into joining facebook and it has taken over our lives! Mike is totally addicted to farmville! There has been so many things that has happened since our last post! The big addition is our nephew Mark has had twins, Parker and Olivia. I can't wait to see them.

We got deployment news over the New Year Holiday. Mike is supposed to leave on January 22 to Afghanistan until the end of August. He has to get final approval from his doctor on the 14th. So for now we are just waiting and seeing. 

CJ come home for the Christmas break. It was so wonderful to see him. He had a tough first semester as so many freshman do. We are giving him one more semester to redeem himself and then he will be on his own. It was a great visit and we learned how to ski and snowboard. Mike and I bought skis for each other for Christmas. I haven't broke anything yet but I'm still in the snow plow mode! 

Sarah is doing really well. She has her first real boyfriend, it has been over a month! Her last boyfriends have never lasted more than 8 days!! He is half German and graduated last year with CJ. He has lived here all of his life and is a really cute kid! Sarah has decided that she is going to do ROTC in college. She will be going to NKU and doing the ROTC program at Xavier. She is going into Military Intelligence with the goal of ending up in the FBI. I hope she is able to reach all of her goals.

Sydney has officially become a teenager in all facets. The poor thing is absolutely drop dead gorgeous and is built like a brick house. We are in so much trouble - we have to literally beat the boys off of her! One boy actually gave her a beautiful necklace and bracelet for Christmas! They are in 7th grade!!! She has experienced the hardest thing for army brats to go through and that is PCSing of friends - two left at Christmas and it has been really hard on her. Hopefully it will pass with the making of new friends!

The holidays have been hard without family but we have made the best of it. We invited friends over for Thanksgiving and had a huge meal. It was so weird not getting up and going to Cincinnati for the Thanksgiving Day Race!! Christmas was so gorgeous over here! The Christmas Markets were so much fun! We went to several throughout the month of December. I have posted pictures!

I hope everyone is doing well and I will try to write more. But if you want to keep in touch day to day - join facebook. Mike, Sarah, Sydney, CJ, and I are all on.
